Forms Support

WebFeats uses a clever program called PolyForm that allows you to implement all kinds of forms on your Web pages without having to create CGI scripts.

Forms support is currently the only WebFeats feature for which we charge an additional sign-up fee. If you want forms support for your WebFeats Web pages, you'll have to send us a check for $20 (plus an additional $1.65 sales tax if your mailing address is in the state of Texas) and we'll set up a special PolyForm "script" for you. Note that there is no monthly charge for forms support!

Once WebFeats has set up your PolyForm script, just include the following tag in each HTML document that includes a form:

<FORM METHOD="POST" ACTION="/cgi-win/polyform.exe/USERNAME">

where USERNAME is your WebFeats username.

For example, if your WebFeats username is Alexis, include this tag in each of your HTML form documents:

<FORM METHOD="POST" ACTION="/cgi-win/polyform.exe/Alexis">

Here's what happens each time someone fills in a form on one of your WebFeats pages:

• A confirmation message is sent to the person who filled in the form.

• An Email message, containing a neatly formatted version of the information that was entered into your form, is sent to your Email address.

• Optionally, the information that was entered into your form can be added to a text file that resides in your WebFeats Web space. (This option is not automatically enabled. If you want this option, remember to let us know.) The file is maintained in your WebFeats user directory; it is named USERNAME.txt, where USERNAME is your WebFeats username.

  For example, if your WebFeats username is Alexis, the information that was entered into your form is appended to a file named c:\html\WebFeats\Alexis\Alexis.txt on the WebFeats webserver.

  Note that, because this file resides in your user directory, it must fit into the Web space you're paying us for. It is your responsibility to maintain the size of the file, typically by periodically transferring it to your own computer (via FTP) and then deleting the original (the file that resides on the WebFeats webserver).

We will add additional options as they are made available in future releases of PolyForm.
